Two chess moves ahead: Trump steps aside, or loses in November
Biden’s replacement would easily beat Trump
Republicans are salivating tonight, with Biden going down hard as a senile 81 year old who would lose in November. Biden is an embarrassment to the nation.
But who are we kidding? Obviously Biden will now step aside no later than early September. Obama, Clinton, Schumer, Pelosi -- all the democrat heavyweights will put pressure on him behind the scenes and it will be a done deal very quickly. For heaven’s sake, this is not hard to figure out. It could happen within days, but certainly no later than early September. Some time between now and then.
Then what have we got? No matter who Biden’s replacement will be, this person -- and VP duo -- would easily beat Trump. This has been obvious all along.
Who precisely? Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Josh Shapiro -- that’s the only list you need. Heck, bring in Hillary Clinton. Anyone would win against Trump at this point.
What about Kamala Harris? She could either stay as VP, or they could sacrifice her along with Biden. Why not? People keep telling me they can’t do this. I say: They can absolutely do this. Nobody will miss Kamala Harris. She is even less memorable than Biden. If Biden goes, she will be marked as complicit, and she goes too.
When Trump trails Biden’s replacement in the polls, then what?
After chess move number one -- Biden is replaced on the 2024 ticket some time before mid-September -- has happened, Trump will start to lag the new democrat ticket by 10% or more. Then what?
Trump is fueled by winning against Biden, whom he hates after Biden stole the 2020 election with unverified and unaudited mail-in ballots. Trump now needs to realize that his personal interests are best served by having DeSantis-Vivek -- or equivalent -- replace him on the Republican ticket. Any other Republican would have a much better chance at winning against, say, Newsom-Whitmer.
Trump will soon have two options:
Stay in the race and lose against Biden’s replacement.
Step aside and say “I have accomplished my mission of taking down Biden who wronged me and the whole country in 2020 and beyond. Now let DeSantis-Vivek take over and I will be their Consigliere in retirement.”
If Trump thinks about this coldly and rationally, he would pick option number two. But will he?
If he doesn’t, it would prove to be one of the biggest mistakes in political history.
Ron DeSantis easily won his debate against Gavin Newsom on November 30, 2023:
Don Trump would get smoked against Newsom, with or without a debate.
Trump should therefore choose wisely, and step down before the Republican Convention on July 15. He would retire as a hero. He has to make this decision within the next couple of weeks.
My thoughts: Biden won’t voluntarily step down, because Jill won’t let him. Trump won’t step down either, because his narcissism won’t let him. The difference is that all of Joe’s support network has turned against him, while all of Trump’s support network think he walks on water. Joe will not make it to November, one way or another. Either he steps down voluntarily or he’ll be subjected to the Epstein solution. Trump will then face his replacement, which I believe will be Michelle Obama, to whom he will lose handily. Then he’ll be back in 2028, at age 82, claiming that TWO elections have been stolen from him. And the cycle will repeat every 4 years until he’s dead.
This was an entertaining post. You give Democrats too much credit, most will vote along party lines regardless of who is on the ticket. It is Independents whose minds might have been changed by the debates, but since Trump didn't exactly shine either, I expect both candidates will appear on the November ballot. If I'm wrong, first round is on me.
